The Octagon ‘artwork’ briefly acquired a complete and timely message highlighting Dunedin’s $800,000,000+ debt in the last RWC week of its $50,000 rate-paid rental. My most recent advice is that the DCC and Ngai Tahu are still trying to cobble together an after-the-fact ‘ownership’ agreement for the artwork, even though all of its internal screens and video players and sound system have been returned to the hire business that provided them.
The ODT photographer took photos similar to below, but management apparently decided that it was better that most Dunedin people never get to see what was on the Occupy Facebook site as below.
Perhaps it was all a bit too much...
